First day of weight watchers
I want a coooookie! I don't even keep cookies in the house. I just want one.

It is a little obsessive, esp in the beginning because it has to be. I went to my first WW meeting and cried the entire time. One day I was walking in NYC and caught a glimpse of myself in a store window and freaked. I went to WW that monday, they weighed me, told me what it was and I was shocked. I'd never weighed that much in my LIFE. Turned out, as I was listening in the meeting and looking at the points, I realized I was eating fukkking 12 pts worth of SPECIAL K in the morning. I started out with a little bowl and it got bigger and bigger and bigger. I could have had a Big Mac for what I was eating for breakfast.
Anyway, I really learned a lot from the meetings, good recipes, got a lot of support, etc. And eventually, most of the stuff you eat all the time, you'll just know the points in your head.
The first few days you schedule your whole day/existance around food and I think I went to bed early just to keep myself from eating. My mom and I used to get on the phone and joke- "Well, all our points are gone, might as well go to bed!"
I felt overwhelmed in the beginning and worried it would never make sense or fit easily within my day and it just did.
How will this affect the 30 day shred?
I need to get back on, too. Do you have a food scale? You'll be SHOCKED at how much stuff weighs, like how much turkey you're really putting on your sandwich.
My fave breakfast was a whole grain English muffin and a wedge of light Laughing Cow. 2 points!
I bet her FUPA's name is Shane, like the gunslinger/drifter of literature.--HappyTummy
Mmmm I love laughing cow light! Have you guys read the Hungry Girl books or checked out the website? I have found great ressypees.
Also, I'm more obsessed with food now than I've ever had to be. I tend to eat the same things every day because it's just easier.
I bought the "BIggest Loser" scale at BBB, I think it was only around $20-25.
Also, the Arnold (or Orowheat, depending on where you live) Sandwich Thins are 1 point and SO YUMMY.

Good luck! The first few days is overwhelming, but you'll get into the groove of it quickly. I've done WW and have had modest success with it. I personally do better with Jenny Craig because I'm very good at lying to myself about portion sizes. In my mind, I have hands the size of an NBA player, so those methods of eyeballing portion size don't work on me.

what she means is that if you did some butt shaking while shredding, there are your activity points. Just use the low fat laughing cow cheese. It shreds like shitt, but whatevs.

I have also found tru luv in Laughing Cow light wedges.
Good luck everybody! I have heard good things about WW and I know you can do it!
I will have 50lbs (minus baby/placenta/uteruice) to lose post-baby and this is the first time in my life (I know, feel sorry for me) that I will have to seriously work on losing the weight. I wouldn't care so much but I seriously can't afford to buy a second new wardrobe in 1 year.
Oh, and Fent, one of my coworkers does WW and a Miller 64 or whatever is 1 point. And I'd imagine 1 cigarette would give you 1 activity point. : P
shut up. you did not.
I did. Wouldn't you cry if you were eating 12 pts of Special K instead of a brownie/cookie/vodka sauce, etc?? Something WORTH it. My ass was huge because of SPECIAL K.
This is the funniest thing I have read in a long time.
I'm really late to this, but I wanted to add to the "it will get better" chorus. Also, I love Arnold's sandwich thins and I suggest the bagel thins. I like a bread with breakfast sometimes, and this hit the spot for me.
And the food scale is pretty much the best investment I've made so far in weight loss.
Ive been on WW since April and lost 30 pounds...still have a lot to go
That has been the hardest part for me. Sometimes the amount I have to lose is overwhelming. Good luck
