As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Close Call
I get a text from DH tonight that said "I almost died tonight J saved my life". J is his roommate on the road and a fellow linebacker, they are currently in New Brunswick. I called him thinking he was messing around and this was probably about something stupid. Come to find out DH was eating subway and choked on the vegetables in his sandwich. His roommate had to perform the heimlich on him and thankfully it was successful. J was able to get whatever was blocking DH's airway out. It really freaked both of them out, DH is worried about his ribs.
Keep in mind both DH and J are over 230 lbs. I guess the team doctor checked on him and he seems fine now. I assume if he has any broken ribs he will definitely know tomorrow at practice, he said he is just sore. Of course now I am on the other side of the country and a bit shaken up. He has already had some issues on this road trip, hopefully things will improve for him. I can't get over how scary this could have been.

Wow! That is a close call. So glad your DH had a friend with him that knew how to help!
We've been talking about needing to take a CPR refresher course (which in the past has also covered the heimlich and other similar choking helpers). I think I'll call tomorrow!
