How is everyone?
I am not having a good week. I want to strangle someone. LOL. First someone steals the gas cap out of my car. Then this morning there was no electricity through the night so phone didnt really charge and I had to take a shower by candle light and my hair looks like crap. Ugh hope it gets better.
Re: Wednesday Randoms
I got up at 4:45 this morning because I had to begin setting up a work event at 6:00. It's going to be a long day! Thank goodness for coffee.
Sorry you're having a crummy week, Charity. I hope things turn around for you very soon!
Thanks. I am drinking Aldi's version of Mt. Dew - I need caffeine - I hate coffee sorry. Hope you got your event set up.
Oye. It's been a long night.
Power went out at 9 last night - still no power. The estimate says it'll be back in 2 days, but I'm hoping that's just a super conservative estimate.
My dad hit a tree that had fallen in the road from the storm driving home last night. Thankfully he's okay, sore with some bruises, but the truck's front is pretty smashed up.
I'm still sick and brought over the perishable foods to my parents and I'm attempting to do a little work here.
I hear you there. Hopefully the power comes on before then. When I left this morning. Saw a consumers energy truck outside the apt complex this morning so hopefully that is a good sign. i dont know what we are going to do about our food in the fridge, etc.
Oh my, you did have quite a night. Good vibes sent to your dad for fast healing and to the electric company to get your power back on ASAP.
Does anyone know how long your food can last in the fridge and freezer if not opened or if the frige is opened quickly to get something to drink?
We had the same problem, and the same estimate, and our power came back on right about the time I was leaving at 9:15 a.m. I hope yours is an equally conservative estimate! But how scary for your dad. Hope his aches and pains dissipate quickly.
Hope things get better!
Hope you all get your power restored quickly! What a pain.
I'm working in Traverse City today. I love it here. So, I just spent a portion of my lunch hour on TC's equivalent of GRAR.
Just dreaming...
Sorry to hear about your Dad last night. That must have been scary.
We don't have power either. Luckily our fridge was still cold enough, so we were able to bring stuff over to Brian's work.
If we don't have power on by the time we get home tonight, then I am driving to my parents to drop them off until Sat. We already had plans to head over there on Sat. I'm not looking forward to the drive, buy maybe I will at least get a date night out of it, tomorrow.
not having power last night and this morning was stressful enough for the kids. They don't understand why we can't turn on the lights and TV for Dora.
Thanks for the thoughts all. I just talked to Dad and he's doing well - I picked my Mama up from work to make things easier on him - he works at a place downtown that is holding an Art Prize opening reception tonight so he's got a long day ahead of him. Insurance said his truck is borderline totalled but they haven't made a decision.
Life without power is weird when we're not camping. :-P I love it when it's by choice, but I hate it when it's forced upon me.
MB - I chatted w/a neighbor whilst walking Gordie earlier and she said she's bringing her kids to grandma and grandpa's house if the power's not back tonight too. She seemed to have similar difficulties with her girls this morning. :-)
