One Dish Chicken & Rice Bake
I don't think I've shared this before, if I have I'm sorry. I made this for HH last night and he absolutely loved it! I substituted the cream of mushroom for cream of celery because I don't like mushrooms. I'm not a rice eater at all, but I really love this.

Re: One Dish Chicken & Rice Bake
I've never cared for it at all, but in this you mix the rice with the soup. That's the only way I'll eat it.
who hates rice?! weirdos! haha
also, OP: i HATE mushrooms, but you can't taste any at all and it really does make a difference in the flavor of the dish...if you think you could get over it.

I had no idea so many people didnt like rice. It's probably the most eaten food in the world.
I'm going to try this recipe tonight!
We love rice. We eat it in one of it's many forms at least once or twice a week.
And HOW can people hate mushrooms? I am not joking when I say they're one of my favourite foods, I put them on or in everything I cook. Dave HATES them, but still uses them when he cooks and then just picks them out because he loves me. The other night we were eating dinner and I was SO into the grilled veggies (specifically the 'shrooms) that I started making little moaning noises. Unintentionally. No wonder he cooks them for me.
This is me and Ben. I hate them, he loves them.
mushrooms completely freak me out. my family LOVES them, and growing up i had to pick them out of everything. ughhhh (shudder)
i think it is mostly psychological...the concept of eating fungus just freaks me out too much. i'm a super picky/weird eater though - anything with a texture, color, etc. i don't like...nope, i won't eat it, even if the taste is ok.

This is me to! lol If HH asks me if I like something and I say no, he'll ask me if I've tried it. If something looks bad or smells bad I'm not going to try it, sorry.
We eat brown rice all the time. Love it. Actually, most of the meals I cook start with chicken and brown rice and build up from there! Haha. One of our favorite meals ever is to take chopped chicken breast and brown it in a skillet (spray the skillet with cooking spray first), then toss in frozen veggies and stir until cooked through. Serve over plain brown rice. Delicious, filling, and absurdly healthy.
I don't mind mushrooms, but I never cook with them. It's just too labor-intensive to grab all of those little things and slice them up. Also, I have a feeling Matt wouldn't eat them. He has this thing against "mushy" food (e.g., watermelon, cake).
Your welcome!
I've never had them either, no one in my family eats them.
Oh maaaaaan they're good. I swear, you have to try them the way I make them, I guarantee you'll love them!
First, slice up about 4 slices of bacon into little chunks, and fry them up. While they're frying, cut the little nubby bottom part off your sprout (but don't cut it so much that the the damn thing falls apart...you want it still in one piece. Then slice it down the middle (from top to bottom). Lay the sprouts in a baking dish.
When the bacon is done frying, put the bacon aside, and drizzle the sprouts with the grease from the bacon. Then throw them in the oven for about 20 minutes. After about 20 mins, take the bacon that you'd previously set aside, and mix it in, and return to the oven for about another 10 minutes. And then you're done! Sooo easy and flippin delicious.
Oh God I can't wait to eat this tonight!
