DH and I may be planning a trip up to Denver next month. There is a mad sale on plane tickets from Austin, so why the heck not?! We've never been!
We'd have to fly into Denver and I am pretty much lost after that. Skiing? Cabin in the mountains? Any suggestions on where to start looking? I want to make sure we can affordable accommodations before we book the plane tickets!

Hey Leigha!... I'm actually from Colorado
There isn't going to be a whole lot of skiing options in October... they usually open up mid-late November... depending on the amount of snow they get.
Estes Park is a great place to stay... you'll definitely get that mountain feel there- there's plenty of stuff to do in Estes, as well as super close to Boulder & Denver.
That's a place to start at least
Thanks! I don't mind not skiing, that was DH's idea. I prefer a relaxing few days! Does Estes Park have cabins or other similar accommodations? We don't want to tent camp in October (well, DH never wants to do that!).
ETA: N/M! I googled it and found some great stuff there. I'm going to have a ton to look at!
