This is a very important question.

Who here likes Harry Potter?

I'm dying (dying!) to see the movie when it comes out in November and have read the books oh, about 5 times and seen all the movies about 3 times. Anyone else?

Re: This is a very important question.

  • HAH! I do like Harry Potter and I would like to see the movie. The movies have gotten better I have to say (I HATED the 1st one) and I like the dark undertones of the movies now.
  • Hubby and I both like Harry Potter.  I've read all the books and we have both seen all the movies.  I need to rewatch them all again in order before the next movie comes out.

  • Well you'd better get moving, you only have less than 2 months! Unless you own all the movies, then you can watch them whenever. I'm crazy and like to reread the books before the movies come out, but I just did that last month.

  • ME ME ME!!!!!!!!!!!!  I absolutely LOVED the books, but I'm 'meh' about the movies.  I think the books are so brilliant that the movies don't do them justice.

  • I agree they are not the same and I don't know how people who haven't read the books have any idea what is going on, but I still love them. I can't help it!

  • I totally agree.  I loved the books, but the movies just didn't live up.  I keep telling DH that he needs to read the books too, but he's not much of a book reader.

@ Liz--we do own all the movies, so I'm thinking a movie marathon is gonna happen soon.

  • My mom loved the Harry Potter series, she had read the first several books (4?) and watched the movies when they came out. The kids love them too so I have seen a couple of the movies but I do feel compelled to at least watch all the preceding movies before the new one. I did start to enjoy them after watching a couple the whole way through and the kids explained some of the plot background to me. I may read them someday, just not right this moment b/c I have another book I'm trying to finish.

  • I love Harry Potter!  I remember staying up all night reading book 7, I went to the midnight release party.  I've only seen a couple of the movies though. I think the books are so much better.  I wouldn't mind seeing the last movie though.

  • I love the books, and could not put any of them down when I read them.  I am kind of meh about the movies though.  I like watching them, but I have not seen all of them (I am not a big movie person anyways, so there are a ton of movies that I have not seen).  The books were just sooo much better!

I pre-ordered the book from Amazon to it was delivered the day it was released and as soon as it hit my doorstep I stared reading and didn't stop until I was finished. Then I read it all over again 2 weeks later.

  • Ooooo, I love Harry Potter!!!  I have read all of the books (I agree, you can't put them down!)  and I've seen all of the movies (not great, but they remind me of the books, so they are exciting!)  I ALWAYS dress up too!

  • I looove Harry Potter. These last two movies are going to be great. I just actually watched the trailer a few minutes ago and it got me even more excited for it! DH will watch them with me but gives me looks like "come on, are you six". I know deep down he is very excited everytime a new one comes out.

  • I'm looking forward to seeing it - I read the books so long ago that I can't exactly remember what happens.  I read them in grad school because I needed one more thing to help me put off studying and projects.
