Comstock Park schools

How are they, as a district?

And more specifically, how are the elementary schools?

TIA!

Re: Comstock Park schools

  • Hopefully good, since we just moved here!

I probably should have done more research myself before moving here, but a lot of DH's coworkers said they were good so we went with it.

  • They are okay.  Definitely not the worst in the area, but defintely not the best though either.  There's also a lot of great schools in West Michigan, so if they were compared on a wider range they'd probably be considered a fairly good district.

You can look at a link to PDF of MEAP scores in this article:

Hey freeburger, how are the property taxes in Comstock Park/Plainfield Twp?  And how do you like the area as a whole- pros/cons?  TIA!

To be honest, I have no idea about the taxes Embarrassed I tend to let DH worry about house stuff, but from what he says they aren't bad.

I like the area, lots of parks, close to the city, family friendly.  It's a small town, but with Alpine being close it makes it feel not as small if that makes sense.  I love being close to shopping, groceries, etc.  We live in the Westgate neighborhood and like it.

I grew up in Plainfield Twp. The property taxes are higher in Plainfield than they are in Comstock. I loved where I grew up, Northview was a great school district. I know it's gone down hill a little bit after school of choice started. A few things to be aware of: Plainfield Township can be a major pain when they want to be, ie: cars not being moved every day from the street/driveway, stuff in your yard, etc.

Are you looking for a place in that area, feel free to bounce street names/neighborhoods off of me. My parents and In-laws both still live there, so we are up that way constantly.
