Hey ladies, I love to keep my house very clean but with a 4 month old dd, its hard. I love having clean bathrooms but hate the smell of the chemicals. When I do a deep cleaning of the bathroom, I smell of these chemicals and have to take a shower right after. This is VERY hard to do with a baby, should she need me.........(remember she sleeps during the day in the arms...which I have tried to break her from it, then she doesn't nap all day for she will not sleep anywhere else)
So what are your easy tips for cleaning a bathroom. I have no problem spending a few minutes everyday to keep it up........
What do you use to clean it?
Thanks for your help....
Re: Cleaning Bathroom ?
Dishsoap, vinegar and borax for a deep clean.
Clorox wipes and Watkins spray cleaner for quick wipes.
Easy and very little chemicals (save for the Clorox Wipes, but I love them, so I don't care).
My husband is obsessed with "Simply Green." It does not smell like chemicals but is a distinct smell, which I hate.
It doesn't stay on the body at all or in the air for long. I have just always been touchy with smells. I am pretty sure it is 100% natrual (judging by the name, I never looked) so great for kids but still cleans amazing.
I can't not live without clorox wipes. I use them for EVERYTHING!
I quickly do this weekly with two toddlers under foot. First I spray the bathroom tub/showerwith Method tub-n-tile cleaner, then I use the mr. clean magic eraser for tough spots and then wipe down with teh method tub-n-tile wipes. I wipe down the mirror with water/white vinegar mix and then do a quick wipe of the sink.
My bathroom cleaning bin contains: Chlorox wipes, Windex (for mirrors), All-Purpose Cleaner, Daily spray cleaner for shower, Toilet bowl cleaner, and Once n Done (for the floor).
Simple and easy. I use the Chlorox wipes and the daily shower spray everyday. I clean the bathroom thoroughly once a week.
I hate using chemicals too. I use a solution of 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water and use Mr.Clean Magic Erasers for the sink and tub. To really scrub the tub, I sprinkle baking soda all over, spray the vinegar solution on top and then scrub.
For the toilet, I pour vinegar in, let it sit for awhile, then scrub. I also bleach it to get rid of bacteria.
Floors, I use an attachment to vacuum hair, then use a swiffer duster.
The vinegar does have a smell, but it doesn't linger like a chemical smell. Very easy and almost no chemicals!
