Baby names...

On my girl list...

Reagan Aubrey - no significance to anything / Reagan Lynn (my middle name, mom's middle name and my grandma's name was Marilyn) / Reagan Jane (my other grandma's middle name but she hates it and my mom would probably be irritated if we name the baby after her MIL in any way who she's not a big fan of)

Aubrey Reagan / Aubrey Lynn

Caitlyn Elise / Caitlyn Grace (no significance to any of it)

I also love Stella, Olivia (but its way too popular), Chloe (again too popular and DH hates it), and Abigail...

I need more ideas as nothing is 100% - Any suggestions or comments are welcome - If you hate them all just tell me - I won't be offended and may or may not ignore it anyway :)

Re: Baby names...

  • At least in the world of my facebook/IRL friends, Aubrey (or Aubrie) is rampant. More popular that Olivia or Chloe, at least around here.

Of the combos you've presented, Caitlyn Elise is my favorite.

Rearranging some of what you've presented, I like Stella Grace, Reagan Olivia, or Abigail Lynn.

I also really like Adelaide for a little girl.

Seriously... I didnt think Aubrey was too popular - I dont know anyone who has used it and haven't seen it too much around here but evidently I'll have to look into that one more.

I love Stella Grace - I'm going to have to sell DH on that one though as I know he's not really a Stella fan yet.

I liked Adelaide too but DH thinks its too old fashioned and he vetoed.

  • Reagan is not popular among my friends, but I have seen the name Rowan pop up from different people.

It seems combinations of Kaylie/Kylie/Raylee/Riley are really popular, so Reagan is not far off from that.

I really like last names as first names, and you could honor whole sets of family by using a last name as the middle name.

I like Caitlin and prefer this spelling over K-spellings (Kaitlyn).

Me too... but there aren't any good ones in our family (Morrison, Kress, Spencer (already used for a cousin), Zaboronak, Muchiga, Stagg, Beinke, Burch) that's as many as I know...

I definitely like the C instead of K for Caitlyn.  I dont really get the sudden popularity of Rowan - I can think of at least a half dozen people who have used it recently for both boys and girls.

  • I know it's impossible to avoid altogether, but remember to think of how cruel kids can be with names.

I agree with SBS, I like Caitlyn Elise the best.  It has a good flow to it.

Most of the names I'm drawn to are variations of family names. Like my grandmother's name was Eleanor, so I like names like Elena and Iliana.  Of course, I plan on naming any daughters I have after Ingrid Bergman characters so my input is already questionable. :)

We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

Yeah, none of those surnames stick out to me as first name contendors either.  I like Morrison for a boy, though.

Oddly Rowan does seem to be making a surge for boys and girls.

As random suggestions, I really like Arden and Virginia.

  • I like Caitlin, but not as much with the -yn spelling if you go with the C. For some reason, I don't mind the -yn if spelled Kaitlyn, probably because I've seen that more frequently. Not a huge fan of Reagan. Love Stella Grace as SBS suggested.

SBS - Adelaide is our favorite girl name.

  • Some other names we considered were Audrey Grace, Faith Rose, Leah Grace, Violet, and Isabella. Isabella was completely out because of Twilight though - nickname would have been Belle.

My boss's friend is naming their son Jacob Edward. No joke. We've tried to talk them out of it, but they won't budge. **headdesk**

  • I adore the name Reagan, that's one of my top contenders as well.  That was my great-grandmother's maiden name (Well, Regan was, but I like the "a" in there.)  Also love Aubrey.  :)  Great choices!

    Shakes head

We were thinking Jacob Donald for a boy but that is because it was each of our grandfather's names.  If this is because of a similar idea, it is ok.  If it is because of Twiligh.... shakes head.

  • I LOVE the name Aubrey!  One of my faves.

I love Isabella, too, but it's too popular now and I would hate the Twilight association. Confused

  • I like Stella Grace and LOVE the name Chloe, but like you said, it's pretty popular. I'm not as big a fan of Reagan or Aubrey, but that's just me. If we have a girl at some point, her name will be Genevieve Elizabeth, but when we were thinking of girl names Chloe, Daphne, and Isabella were top contenders. I always felt like it was easier to pick girl names than boy names.

    Really cute!

  • These are all really pretty options Hawki!

I honestly really like them all. The only input I have is that Caitlyn is really, really, really common. I think I know 14 girls with this name!

  • I vote for Reagan. Because I'll always remember it. :)

    I do love Aubrey too.
