So after I posted on Monday, we scheduled a D&C for Wednesday. We went back on Tuesday for one more ultrasound, so I could be entirely sure the baby had died. You could tell it was recent, as it had already changed shape between Monday and Tuesday. So they we (they) went ahead and inserted the laminarium (did anyone else have to do this with a D&C?) and we went home and came back the next day for the surgery.
Everyone in the doctors offices and hospitals has been great. They have a plot at a nearby cemetary for all of the babies who are removed this way from the hospital, so it will be nice that we will be able to go visit when we are ready. We are running the genetic testing on the baby so we can see if there is an explanation fr this and if we neeed to be concerned for next time.
I'm feeling a lot better today, and may go in t work or try to work remote tomorrow. My boss is being great but I think some time in work could be good for me. We go back to the doctor in two weeks, then we will hopefully be able to start trying again in December or January.
Thank you girls for all your support. Everyone has been absolutely wonderful. I am blessed to have strong faith in God, and I know He would never hurt either of us, and there has to be a reason, that this was not meant to be. Both DH and I had dreams on Monday night that we woke up feeling peaceful from, mine was of baby heaven and his was a conversation with a stranger telling him that our child wasn't meant to live. There have been several signs the past few days telling us that this was not our time, but our time will come.
Re: Update on Me (Long)
I am so very sorry you had to go through this. It's just heart breaking!!!!
I never had laminarium when I had a D&C. I am glad you & your DH have peace about things. I agree it helps to get back into normal life to deal with some of the emotions.
If you need to talk you can always email me.
Continued thoughts and prayers to you and your hubby. Your time will definitely come.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
