Those who have Verizon...what phone do you have?

Tell me why you like it or hate it. I'm switching over to Verizon in a couple weeks and want to know which phones are good.

Thanks!

Re: Those who have Verizon...what phone do you have?

  • The hubby and I both have Droids.

    Love them.

Great service, reception, we have everything we could ever want at our fingertips.

And I LOVE the GPS. It's saved me from so many potential "hassle" situations in the car.

  • I love Verizon....been with them for about 8 years.  I have the Samsung Rogue.  I got it before the Droid became the phone of the hour.  I really like it, but now that I've had it for a while, the battery life is TERRIBLE.  It lasts about a day.  I just need to get a new one and the phone will be great again.  :)
  • Blackberry Storm.  Been ready to get rid of it for a long time.  I never ever think to lock my phone, but being that it butt dials (mostly fake voice dials) atleast one person a day, you think I would.   It getting old and the battery is starting to fail.  If I used the internet much it lasts for a couple hours. It doesnt respond well to button pushes (new problem) and freezes alot (old problem).  My contract is up soon and then I can get a new one.  I am thinking Droid.
  • I have an LG Chocolate Touch.  Don't love it, don't hate it.  I find that it isn't very accurate on the touch screen unless I use my fingernails.  Not a good phone if you keep your nails short or want a guy to use it.
  • I have the enV. I like it for what I need it for which is calling and texting.

  • I have the Droid X and Brent has the 1st droid that came out.  We both LOVE them!
  • I have a Droid (the original one with the pull out keyboard). I would not recommend this phone. It has a high risk for dropped calls and the proximity sensor is WAY too sensitive causing the touch screen to light up while in calls and my cheek to hit the "end" button. My husband worked for Verizon when we first got this phone and as soon as I got it and started having issues, he noticed a lot of other folks coming into the store with the same problems.

I don't think this Droid is even available anymore but if you are thinking of going with a Droid (which I would recommend doing) I would say don't get one with a keyboard even if you are not used to touch screen... That was basically the reason I chose this phone but after a few days of using the touch screen keyboard I realized it wasn't so bad and have used the actual keyboard maybe twice. Having a pull out keyboard just makes the phone bulkier (especially if you want a cover) and gives it more moving parts to potentially falter.

All that being said about this specific model, Droids in general are AMAZING! My husband has the Incredible and loves it. The X is also a really great phone.

Android phones are definitely the next "big thing" and there's good reason for it! The apps are great, email features rock, and the overall design and function is fantastic! If you are thinking of getting a smart phone I would highly recommend an Android device over a Blackberry or any other smart phone.

If you are going to go with a Droid and want the latest and greatest, one thing you may want to look into is Black Friday deals. When my husband was working for VZW (he just left a month or so ago) they mentioned that a few brand new Droids will be hitting the market around Black Friday. Just something to think about when you start figuring out which phone you want.

Verizon is a great carrier and has the best customer service out there so as long as you find a phone you like I'm sure you will be happy! GL!
