Clean pen ink off of leather??

This is so silly, but a pen exploded on my leather purse. How can I get it off?? Does anyone have any advice

Re: Clean pen ink off of leather??

  • I would try aerosol hairspray...
  • I've had this problem and have taken purses in to be cleaned but they told me if you get it right away with a paper towel with warm water and a little bit of mild hand soap you can just wash it out. Don't soak the purse, just use the damp paper towel. It will take a bit of working but its worth it to save the purse!
  • You should be able to go to the drug store, or hardware store and get leather cleaner. If it's an expensive purse I really wouldn't try hairspray because then you are left with a really bad residue and then have to use soap and water to get it off. Leather cleaner would be the way to go

  • Nate Berkus show just showed Permanent Marker coming off with Hairspray.
  • Thanks ladies, those a great ideas -- I'm going to give it a shot!!

  • I had a leather couch and nail polish remover took everything off ... I would try it in an inconspicuous spot first.
