called me last night all hysterical because she saw the picture of the snake that I posted on FB.... "IT COULD BE A COPPERHEAD!!!!!" Nah, I'm pretty sure it's not. She then proceeds to tell me that I need to put mothballs around my house because the snakes "can't breathe it in" and that I need to remove all pine straw from around the areas touching the house....... um, you're weird and we don't have pine straw touching the house.
Re: So my MIL....
ugh MILs.
Mine called the other night, and Dave was in the kitchen so he told me to answer the phone. Normally I avoid the phone like the plague when they call because I HATE talking to them on the phone, so I just scream "IT'S YOUR PARENTS" and chuck the phone at him. But my mom was there and I couldn't be rude, so I had to answer. She sounded so surprised when I answered the phone, she was all "J? Hiiiiii? Wow!" and then I was annoyed because hello! It's my house! I'm allowed to answer the phone, why does this surprise you?
Yes, I know I was unduly irritated, because I have answered the phone maybe 3 times in 5 years. But still. Irk.
I hate answering the phone when MIL calls because she always talks my ear off forever and I can't get off the phone with her and she never really talks about anything. Just kinda rambles a lot. Adam gets pissed when she calls my cell phone and I don't answer it because he says I'm being just like the other daughter-in-laws who don't always treat MIL the best. Dude, I don't need to talk to her everyday to still have a good relationship with her. There are some times when I just don't feel like talking. I've ignored my own mother's phone calls too.
What the heck is pine straw?
We have to go see my MIL tomorrow evening.
I shouldn't complain, because I haven't had to deal with her in a long time, but I can think of things I'd rather do after working all day on a Saturday.
HAHAHAHAHA
How did all of our MILs end up with such normal and lovely children? My mom and I had this conversation yesterday, because I truly love Dave's siblings and their partners...but his parents are definitely on the crazy side.
Just because they are both creepy slithery doesn't mean they have the same color changing abilities. But that did make me LOL!
LOL Pam, I thought you were saying that she was in mass-- as in, IN CHURCH! I was like, she's yammering away on her phone in mass? That's terrible!
I'm an idiot...
Haha, I'm glad i'm not the only one with a kind of looney MIL. Yes, I love her but she can be awkward at times.
She called HH from petsmart asking what type of ear cleaner we buy our dogs. HH goes "uhh....not sure". She then proceeds to ask us if we can take a picture of the ear cleaner bottle we have and send it to her phone. We were out at lunch so HH told her she'd have to wait and she got a bit upset b/c she was already at Petsmart. Come on....pick out your own dog ear cleaner!! It's not that hard.
