Re: I'm so lonely!

You'll get the hang of it. It's only the first day!!
Thanks for the reminder though.... I need to get my flu shot!
Fun bandaids make it totally worth it. I am NOT good with needles.
Remember when I was at the doctor a few weeks ago? She was giving me the full physical and I was doing great, laughing and joking with her. After I was fully dressed she was like "Oh yeah, I'm just going to prick your finger and test your blood sugar" I've never had that done before. I panicked a little and was like "Is it going to hurt??" She honestly gave me side-eye and was like...it's a finger prick, you'll be fine. I cried a little.
They don't bother me at all either. Then again I've never had to have a huge needle stuck in me like an epidermal or something but yeah shots don't bother me at all.

. Stu, I have to watch them too. I can't NOT watch someone stick me.

I would have no problem being lonely for $33/hr. I wouldn't mind a lot of things for that.
At the Dr.'s on Wednesday they asked if I wanted a flu shot. I refused. The last time I went they wanted me to update my tetanus shot. I refused that too. I don't like needles...not at all!
When I went to orientation for this job I got my tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccine. My arm hurt for literally a week. Will prob get the flu vaccine soon, because either one of the hospitals I work for will make me!

stu, what's wrong with your blood?

When I refused my tetanus I said I have to do a lot of lifting for work so I couldn't have my arm hurting. They suggested I get it in my butt. I told them there was no way a needle was going anywhere near my butt. NO WAY!

In some parts of the world, cattle can get an infectious, fatal brain disease called Mad Cow Disease. In these same locations, humans have started to get a new disease called variant Creutzfeld-Jacob Disease (vCJD) which is also a fatal brain disease. Scientists believe that vCJD is Mad Cow Disease that has somehow transferred to humans, possibly through the food chain.
There is now evidence from a small number of case reports involving patients and laboratory animal studies that vCJD can be transmitted through transfusion. There is no test for vCJD in humans that could be used to screen blood donors and to protect the blood supply. This means that blood programs must take special precautions to keep vCJD out of the blood supply by avoiding collections from those who have been where this disease is found.

I remember having to answer all sorts of crazy questions like that when I donated plasma in college.
"Have you ever had sex with a man who lived in Germany from 19xx-19xx"....um no. "Have you ever had sex with a man who had sex with a man who lived in Germany from 19xx-19xx"....um no! "do you use herion"...no. It was like 3 pages of crazy questions like that but hey I had to feed my taco bell obsession some how
Needles don't bother me at all. Shots, IVs, Blood Draws, it's whatev.
I also have NEVER gotten a flu shot in my life. And I got the flu for the very first time at the beginning of last year. Never getting a flu shot and not having the flu for 24 years... I'll take my chances instead of pumping myself full of the flu just so it will be "less severe" if I do get it this year.
