S/O lynchings
When we went to Voodoofest 2 years ago there was a noose hidden in a tree about the African American section of the festival (where they had crafts and performances, etc). It did not look like it had been hanging there for a long time and we feel it was put up intentionally.
But we didn't report it to anyone because we felt that would just give the people who did it what they wanted and we also didn't want bad press or panic for the festival or New Orleans. But I still felt bad letting it stay up there.
