Ever notice how we'll get someone appear who hasn't posted in ages? Or people who never posted while we were on TK (Like Darby -- where is she??)?
So, if you're a lurker - why do you lurk? Why are you not posting more?

Re: Lurkers
Was this post prompted by the cdobs comeback of the year?
I lurked because I got super busy. Now I'm back!

I have been busy trying to get the house painted and gazebo stained and other odd and end jobs around the house done this summer, while also looking for a job. I hate it when applications say they need someone with 3+ years experience! How the heck do you get experience if no one will hire you? So, frustrating!
Anyways, my brother broke his other leg now and I was helping him out for awhile too. I haven't had much of a chance to get on here. Hopefully with winter approaching (yuck!) I will be able to get on more.
On a lighter note (I don't know if I mentioned it awhile back or not, so if I did...excuse me), my eldest brother and sis-in-law who had a ton of fertility issues are expecting a baby in November! They are so excited, it happened on their 3rd and final shot at IVF. There was originally twins, but they lost one early on and this one is doing super well.
AND
the youngest of my older brothers and sis-in-law are expecting a baby boy around Christmas. Zachary Allen I believe is the name they picked out (after her relatives).
My life is not so interesting otherwise!
I guess one would say I'm a lurker, although I rarely lurk on this board anymore. Before the wedding I posted now and then, but my lifetime graduate student status keeps me pretty busy nowadays. Also, my life is super uninteresting. Seriously. Nobody wants to hear about the crazy cat lady who corners me on the bus every.single.day. Actually, I'm not going to lie, I just found the 'reply' button. I'm not sure if I am supposed to reply to the original poster or the last post. Besides this board, I lurk on the green living and the politics & current events boards.
nanner - I consider you a reg too, but congrats on all the babies!
Lucy - OMG, I remember you!! I think something I said made your sig. Haha. Long time, no see! Any wedding pics? I don't think you came by after we all got hitched.
ETA: Oh, actually - your quote made MY sig.

Well, since I was called out and all.....
Sometimes I lurk because that's all I have time to do. I only Nest from work & we've been really busy lately (my home computer doesn't like TN very much & I rarely even check my email from home). Oh, I lurk on a couple other boards,too....mostly d&r, wc & travel.
Other times it's because I don't really have anything I think is useful to add or it has been so long since the post that I'm pretty sure nobody will even see it.
Then sometimes I just feel like since I'm such a late joiner to J9 that I either don't know the back story of what you're talking about or you might think it's weird that I post on a topic since I rarely show up here.
Wow! Since that just sounded like a buch of lame excuses....I'll try to post more...but I should warn you that I can be pretty wordy at times (see all the lame excuses above) and you might be forced to read how my evening or weekend plans consist of feeding the stray cat & squirrels that show up at my house, laundry, cooking, cleaning, getting my Jeff Lewis fix on & hanging out with DH. Exciting, huh?

Ha! That made me laugh! I suppose it's good to be useful! I'll even try to come up with something witty every now and then...
We accept late joiners - no worries
I completely understand the wanting to be useful thing though. There are certain topics that are pretty black and white. It can be hard to have things that are worth discussing as opposed to just reading, nodding, and moving on.
I'm sure I said something incredibly insightful. I do have wedding pics, but not anywhere on the interwebz. I will attempt to put one in my siggy.
I rarely come here anymore - to The Nest, in general. I stop by every couple of weeks, but ever since our Photography board split into a totally new forum, I never come over here anymore. Things are really active over there, so I spend all day with that site up (where I used to always keep The Nest/Bump Photog board up). Not to mention, when I do stop by here this board is always so slow. I do give you credit, Mames, for trying to keep discussions alive though!!
ETA: When I do stop by, though, I try to always post on any relevant threads!
Lucy - pretty pic!
simple - barge away!
hops - Miss you! Post more plz.

I did not see this post until now... and it's been a couple days since I popped out of the woods.
Ok, so I was only kind of lurking. I was trying to figure out where an old post was archived, and knowing it was on this board, I started there. Sometimes I would look at newer posts, but only if it looked super interesting.
Once I found my post via my profile, I posted saying hi.
I'm not creepy, I promise.
I hadn't been posting because my life had been super busy and I honestly kind of just forgot about The Nest. Part of this has to do with the fact that I'm quite a bit younger than a lot of people on this board, so sometimes its hard for us to relate, especially since at this point in my life, I'm married but not settled down (no real/permanent job, no house, not even in America). Know what I mean?
But, I still like coming here because I think you gals are interesting. I like your fun blogs about things that I might have one day. It's like, you're kind of my grownup role models. No pressure.
Anyway...That's my input.
I guess I'm a lurker now too. I'm on TN pretty regularly, just over on the Military board. Since the wedding, and especially since last winter, its been a better fit for the things going on in our lives (H's underway, military move). I do peek in at J9 pretty regularly, but the board is so slow that I don't stick around long.
For those interested, we're now in San Diego, been here like a week. We had a coast-to-coast drive to get over here that was great...whole new respect for just how big our country is.

Hi girls,
I lurk around here every now and then, but I'm mostly on the Dec 10 Bump board and on a local Boston board, not related to the nest.
Hope everyone is doing well!!
