Kiz! brain picking please!
my brother just sent us a link to a lot for sale in our ideal neighborhood in south mpls. the house is a tear down.
i think you gave a range before for new construction. can you offer that up again? i'm curious if this would even be an option for us. i think we'd like to be in the 2200 sq ft range and a mix of euro-contemporary/20s build finishes (clean lines but arches and possibly some built ins).
Re: Kiz! brain picking please!
Very very basic new construction will run about$125- $150 in the cities. Super high end everything with all custom stuff could be anywhere from $300-$500-and up.
I would very roughly estimate $200 a square foot for you guys. Keep in mind that is a ROUGH estimate.
That is a rough estimate for everything. Final price of house divided by square feet. Obviously it could vary a LOT depending on materials and appliances etc chosen.
You can get an oven at Home Depot for $299 or a a Wolf gas range for $10,000. A $100/square foot house would have the $299 oven. A house with a $10,000 would most likely be in the $250+/square foot category. It really depends.
Have you talked to any builders? They could give you a better idea of cost depending on the products you pick out.
How exciting!! Need a great architect?
you're so smart kiz! if i have more questions (which i probably will), i'll email you over the weekend. : )
THANK YOU for your time though. so nice of you.
kiz, we found a floorplan we really like... with a few changes of course.
i thought you might like to take a peek. : )

we'd want to move the laundry upstairs and not have 2 dining rooms and the garage would be moved to the back of the lot so we'd repurpose that space somehow but i love the kitchen/family/dining flow and it's a good blend of both of our styles. : )
