job help por favor

Does anyone have a good cover letter or sample of one that they could send me? I think my resume is okay, but my cover letter might be throwing them off. My major problem, I believe, is that my work experience isn't really so much in my field, so I need to be more creative. You can either PM me or send to c dot b dot sylvia at gmail dot com

Thanks!

Re: job help por favor

  • When I've had to go through resumes for our co-op position, there's nothing that makes my eyes roll harder than a "standard" cover letter.  When it's the exact same letter as the next person in the pile, it just makes me think that you just want to look good, but didn't care to put in the effort.

From my understanding, a good cover letter should be completely tailored to the job you're applying to and the specific skills that you have that would make you a good candidate for the job.  So, IMO, a one-off thing, and not really something you could get from someone else.

  • My cover letter is geared specifically to teaching but this is how I set mine up. I would be more than happy to send it over if you do want to look at it.

First para: job position applying and where you heard of the opening.

Second: how my skills and attributes will be applied/benefit this job

Third: thanking for the time, how I look forward being a member of the team, etc.
