Recommend your Favorite Sunday Brunch Restaurant!

My DH and I tend to do Sunday brunch just the two of us every other Sunday. Well, we definitely have some favorite places, but we are looking to try something new!

Please recommend your favorite Sunday Brunch Restaurants! Bonus points if they are South/Downtown area! :)

Re: Recommend your Favorite Sunday Brunch Restaurant!

  • we did brunch at Max's Wine Dive the other day and it was really good.  We both had chicken and waffles, but everyone's food looked SO good!  and they have mimosa's and sangria by the pitcher.

i hear moonshine's brunch is always phenomenal too, and if you haven't done a gospel brunch at Stubb's or Threadgill's, you should definitely check it out sometime.

  • We used to be semi-regulars at Shuck Shack's Sunday brunch, it's really good.

Blue Dahlia & Vespaio used to do cheap mimosas (like $1 or $2) during Sunday brunch, but I don't know if that's still going.

I've heard Tacos & Tequila has a good brunch, but I haven't tried it out.

    I love brunch!

  • We love Moonshine, but don't go there often.  Our south Austin regular spots are Torchy's Tacos, Kerby Lane (the new one at MoPac and Wm Cannon), Waterloo south, Central Market and La Madeleine- all of which we can ride our bikes to.
  • Frank has a really unique brunch. It's definitely worth checking out.

  • I like a lot of the ones above too.  Maudies is another one.

  • Thanks for all of the replies! We'll definitely be checking out some of these places. A few of our favorites are Jack Allen's, South Congress Cafe, Sagra, Maudies, and Magnolia!
  • We live in Hutto so we don't go often but our fav Sundays are brunch at Guerro's on S.Congress then wandering around a bit and coming back to Guerro's for live music.  Best.Days.Ever.

  • Our favorite places for brunch in that neck of the woods are South Congress Cafe, Curra's, and 24.

South Congress Cafe has migas that are to die for.

  • Not just for brunch, but Garcia's on Wm. Cannon and Manchaca.  We don't really like the other locations, which seems weird that they wouldn't have the same quality of food.  Anyway, I believe you can get migas at ANY TIME which my DH and my sister love.  My sister doesn't always want to get out of bed before noon, so this is a "go-to" place for us.
  • I am a huge brunch person - always do brunch for our occasions.  I LOVE Taverna and Moonshine.  Those are my favorite 2 places for brunch.  Taverna has reservations which makes it nice - no wait.  Moonshine there can be quite a wait but definitely get a bloody mary to sip while you wait.
