So I'm MOH in a wedding, and the bridal shower I'm helping throw for her is Sunday. I spent $50 on invites I personally designed for it, $60 on decorations, plus also the bridesmaid dress. I'm planning on buying them a personalized wall plaque thing to match their bed room for the actual wedding.
I'm friggin broke. I had a baby shower last month, and baby shower tomorrow, a baby shower next month and another one the month after. Plus a baby and bills and my dogs, and foster dogs to pay for. And a baby of my own that I'm saving for.
So is it bad that I'm seriously debating not buying her a present for the bridal shower? Her mom and MIL are making food, and renting the location, etc. So it's not like I'm all on my own. But I've already spent over $200 on everything so far...
My overly happy baby girl!

Re: Is this bad?
If it were me, I'd give her a gift for the bridal shower and just a nice card for the wedding!
If that's not an option (if the wall thing won't be ready), then I think it would be fine. If it's a larger shower she (and everyone else) won't notice right away that you didn't get her anything.
ETA: It's normal in my circle of girlfriends to not get the bride gifts for the actual wedding. We all realize how expensive it is to be in a wedding, so we don't get gifts for the bride! But we do get the bride a gift for her shower. I didn't get a gift from my bridesmaids for the actual wedding. And I didn't get a gift for the bride in the weddings I've been in. My twin sister and I didn't even get each other a gift for each other's weddings!

I had a few extra invites, so I made a shadow box. With a front and back view of the invite. It's a surprise shower so she's never seen the invites. And I threw some pumpkin stickers and bride/groom stickers in it.
It actually turned out pretty ok. And luckily I had left my card in my work pants, so Dh paid for it.
