Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

POLL - Want to move to a private group?
What do you guys think of leaving the Nest and forming a private group on another site? We could control who has access to it and who can respond. It seems like many of you are going through some things and want to talk but don't like to do it here because its public. I think we all want to support each other and would love to have a more private space to do that.
I'm familiar with Google groups and Yahoo groups and know
that you can even receive posts straight to your email, which will be a
big convenience for many of us.
If you are interested in being a moderator, please post here too. I don't mind helping set it up if we all agree but my time to moderate will be limited so I will need at least 2 committed moderators to help.

Haha, I love that you posted this. I swear u read my mind. I was thinking about this earlier. I am part of another private board and we use proboards if you want to check that one out. I will be willing to go anywhere, I would love to be able to post and not have to worry about someone seeing everything.
I'll follow you ladies anywhere! I would just rather not go to Google or Yahoo groups since I don't know if I want an email everytime someone posts. I'm part of some of those groups for volunteer activites and the emails get overwhelming sometimes. I like Lindsey's suggestion about the board she uses.
What about emailing the RAK list once it's set up so we could try and get some of the girls back that have faded away?

I am part of another group that uses http://jcink.com/ and it's super easy to check on and loads REALLY fast. I'd love to be able to talk to you ladies about stuff but I just can't because of the publicness of it. I think when we initially talked about this, we had a lot more girls who went on other parts of the nest but I'd rather have us be able to talk openly since we all "know" each other so well and can't share a lot via facebook...
yes exactly. Its like they block certain words that sites are classified under. For example, some blogs I can get into... some I can't... just depends on the classification. I don't even understand how I've been able to get on the knot/nest all these years!

I will move wherever...I definitely still want to be a part of the group even though I've been more MIA. I'm a huge fan of Google and I doubt anyone's work would have that blocked. As for Alicia's concern about too many emails, I believe that you can change your preferences in Google groups to receive either no emails or at least a "digest" format where you only get one every week or something.
