Natazia Birth Control Pill

Has anyone heard of this or had experiences with it?  Good or bad?  Any side effects I should know about?  I have a lot of health issues and my doctor believes I may have endometriosis.  I've been on Ortho-cyclene for years to control some of the symptoms, but it has recently stopped working as well, so she switched me to Natazia.  I've done a little research but would like to hear of any experiences firsthand if I can.  I'm hoping it helps with minimal side effects and maybe even clear up my recent acne break-outs (wishful thinking!).  TIA

Re: Natazia Birth Control Pill

  • I've never heard of Natazia, but when my doctor thought I had endometriosis, she put me on the Depo Provera shot. It worked like a charm! No period for 5 years, until they made me get off it. The only thing they recommended with the shot is taking 1500mg of Calcium daily, since it can cause bone loss. I did a bone density scan after 3 years and there was no deterioration.

The shot is given every 3 months and it can take about 1 or 2 years to get pregnant after getting off it.

     Good luck! =)

  • Thanks for the response!  After doing some more research I found out that the reason why I can't find much info on Natazia is because apparently it's a new pill.  It was just approved by the FDA in May this year.  That makes me a little nervous, but I'm willing to try almost anything to get these symptoms under control for the time being until we decide to have kids.

Did you have any type of side effects with the shot?  Any weight gain, acne, headaches, nausea, etc.?  My doctor didn't ever mention this as an option so it never really crossed my mind.  Taking up to 1 or 2 years to get pregnant after quitting the shot makes me worried about future fertility issues though.

  • I know I'm kinda late on this... I was kind of hoping there was some way to send you a message or something. My Dr just put me on Natazia- switched from NuvaRing because I started spotting (very unusual for me, especially after being on the ring for 1 year.) I went from the spotting with the Ring to a full blown period; I started Natazia a month ago and it just seems to be getting worse. Its been two months since I have had this bleeding... And since it IS new and not many people know much about it, I'm seriously considering going OFF of the Natazia and BC period.

How is it working for you?
