getting smokey smell out

Hey ladies.

I'm headed to a wedding next weekend and bought a second hand purse.  It's vinyl made to look like metallic leather.  I just realized it REEKS of smoke.

ANy ideas how to get it out?  I thought of just throwing it in the washer, but not sure if that will ruin the metallic finish.

Re: getting smokey smell out

  • Could you put it in a bag of baking soda and then rinse or vacuum the baking soda off after a couple of days? Maybe leave it out on the line to air out for a day or so?
  • I would say leave outside, or try spraying febreeze on the inside and hope it works it's way out.  Good luck.

  • I would try Febreeze and then leaving it outside. The fresh air might help. maybe a spritz of some perfume with more air drying as well?
