Best mop?

We have had a swiffer wet jet for a few years, but now that we have a crawling baby, the SWJ is not cutting it.  We need a new mop!  We will probably get a steam mop at/for Christmas, but what kind is best for the meantime?

Re: Best mop?

  • You don't mention what type of flooring you have.  We have tile, and I have the Swiffer, the Shark Steam mop, and even the Hoover Floormate.  Guess what I've been going back to lately?  The Swiffer.  It's light, it's cordless and it's easier.  How many machines does it take to clean my floor?

  • We have hardwood.  I could see myself using the swiffer for quick touch ups.

  • method o mop. you can use microfiber pads as well as a rag, or buy their disposable cloths. you can use it on the floors and with a rag you can use it on walls and up in corners to get out cob webs. you can use it dry and you can use it wet. you can use your own home made cleaner or you can buy theirs that you squirt on the floor. I love mind just due to it is wide and versital and sturdy and can handle scrubbing. I have actually used mine on my bathtub/shower walls. easy...

  • We use Bona.  It's environmentally friendly, so nothing will harm your baby.  We use the cleaner now but I want to try the polisher.  (It's a every-six-months treatment.)
