How's everyone doing???
Seeing that the baby was in the uterus and not the fallopian tube, and seeing the heartbeat on Thursday was amazing and relieving. I am finally letting myself be excited! My parents are here this weekend, so it's been non-stop talk about the baby...so much fun!!!! I'm feeling ok, everyday feels a little different, so i just try to take one day at a time.
I think we made the decision that we will stay in our 1 bedroom apt for the first 10 months that the baby is here...Right now we have a doorman, in-unit laundry, covered parking garage, elevator, fitness room...having an extra bedroom isn't worth it to me to give up all of these things. Plus, our place is pretty big (by downtown Chicago standards anyway!), and if we moved into a 2 bedroom, it would be the same sq. footage, just more walls.
So anyway, how are my fellow pregnant ladies???
btw, i got a text from SIL that said, "how's prego?" I didn't respond lol
Re: Mama to be Check in
I'm doing good. My boobs started really hurting a few days ago, and every day I feel more and more tired. But *knock on wood* no MS so far. had blood work last thursday, so waiting to hear if anything came back abnormal. I should know by tomorrow night, my OBs office has the whole "no news is good news" So I'm really hoping no one calls.
BIL and his wife had their baby shower yesterday, I was working so I couldn't go but Damian went. Apparently everyone kept saying things like "you're next" "whens your turn" etc etc. It wasn't even our family, it was her family, and her friends. Obnoxious. I guess it was bound to happen at some point, we've been fairly lucky and no ones ever really asked us the "when are you having kids" question.
That's about it really. waiting until the end of Oct. for our first ultrasound. And I've been keeping myself busy with baby research.

I think staying in the one bedroom apt isnt a bad idea especially with an infant. All you really need is a co-sleeper/bassinet and maybe an additional dresser than can double as a changing table. You definitely have time before needing a bigger space.
I am doing okay. We really need to get working on the upstairs with the baby's room and our room. Right now the baby's room is skim coated, so we need to sand and probably mud some again before we can prime and paint. One of DH's best friends is coming next weekend to help rip up carpet, and take a few loads of that and old furniture to the dump and help with the mudding and priming. I *hope* that after next weekend all we will need to do is paint and lay down carpet. I am starting to get anxious about all of this, especially since we have a crib already, but it sits in the box in our dinign room and my showers are coming up here soon. I want to start organizing and putting things away!
Oh and my nipples started leaking this week. Fantastic.
Lissy I can't believe you're so far along already! It's seriously crazy! Showers are so exciting!?
My nips never leaked, I was so worried that was a bad sign but it all worked out!?
you lasted longer going without nipple leakage than I did. I started at like 16 weeks. Get the washable nipple pads or the disposable ones work great too. I liked the washable ones but I was washing them every other day since I only had 4 of them. Granted it was more cost effective with the reusable ones, but the throwaways are just so easy.
I'm so excited for all you new mommas to be.
