Does this exist - window candle
DH and I have been looking for solar window candles since we moved into our house. We have 6 front windows and we want to keep the candles in the window year round (its a tradition in the town that we live in to see the candles lit all year).
I can't find anything that is solar... We found that the ones that we bought when we first moved in need new batteries every month... and we only have them light from 8PM - 2AM. Now that it is autumn and it gets darker earlier we would like to have them light from 5 - at least 1AM.
This is similar to the look we want (our house was built in 1875 so we wanted to go with an aged bronze look.
Any ideas where we can find them? We are hoping with the holiday season right around the corner we would be able to find them... ultimately we would like to keep the cost of the candle at less than $20 (we figure we can spend a little more on the candle since we won't be replacing the batteries every month)

I think my mom and I used to drive through your town when I was going to college and it was time to move in/out. I always pointed out all the houses with the candles in the window.
Did you check qvc by chance? I know they have a lot of special lighted decorations.
QVC has ones with batteries that have timers and light sensors. My mother actually called me a few hours ago to tell me that they were the value of the day today. I ordered a set (4 candles for $35). We only have 4 front-facing windows, but I'll admit that I'm too lazy to go around plugging/unplugging them every day. That's why we stopped doing them a few years ago.
I'm too lazy for the plugs too and we don't have a plug in front of every window.
We saw the ones on QVC and I love the color and shape of them but they are just battery operated. We were hoping for solar.
Me too. They are light sensing and I use rechargable batteries. I'm from PA originally and it's a tradition I brought with me to CA ;-)
Just curious what the story is behind the candles. There is a house here that does that and it is on a dirt road that leads to a cemetary. We used to go to that cemetary in high school because people say it is haunted. The house combined with the cemetary creeped me out so much that sometimes I wouldnt get out of the car.
