I have yellow Lab and I also have a Siamese Cat -- translate to HAIR everywhere. How often and How do you clean your floors? My house is a combination of wood, carpet and tile. Other than vaccuming every day I dont have any other solution but I am going insane.
Any tips?
Thanks!
Re: Lab Owners - Floors
We have a lab and a small apartment. The downstairs has hw floors so we swiffer every other day. The stairs & bedroom upstairs are carpet and we vacuum those once a week.
For our furbaby, we found that a few things help with his shedding & itching: he gets fish oil every day, quality food, supplement dry kibble with our left over veg (if a dog needs the nutritents they'll eat it, if not they'll leave it), mix in ground beef with the dry kibble, and using a furminator 2x/month
We have a cat and a dog and hardwood floors throughout our 600sf house. I vacuum every single day. It sucks. I also brush the dog every other day and use the Furminator every other week or so. We also have an Austin Air Healthmate air purifier, not sure if that is helping or not, haha.
What drives me nuts are the pawprints on the floor. Vacuums can't get rid of that! So I end up mopping once a week, too.
We just bought a rug, hoping that will stop the fur from flying around. I love my dog, but...... This is nuts.
Swiffer every other day or so, vacuum once a week.
Rusty gets furminated weekly too.
Ditto to the fish oil - that really helps cut down on shedding! We give our dog an egg when we eat them for breakfast too. That also helps.
