I found out today that my uncle's partner died. He had lymphoma.
He was diagnosed shortly before our wedding. He had done his first round of chemo just before coming here for the wedding from OOT. I only got to meet him briefly but he seemed like a really nice guy from the short conversations we had.
This is one of my favourite uncles, and my heart just breaks for him. I think our wedding was the first time that his partner was invited to a family function - my uncle was very touched when I invited them both.
Back in the summer, V and I had considered visiting my uncle but decided to postpone until the spring for a few reasons. Now I think it was a blessing in disguise that we changed our minds; I don't think he would have wanted to host us at a time like this.
I know none of you know him but I just wanted to get it out. If you could spare a thought for my uncle, I'd really appreciate it.

Re: :( Sad family news
That's such sad news, I'm so sorry. My thoughts go out to you and your uncle.
