I currently live in a rental property and our kitchen has old gross linoleum floors. I either mop or use my Swifer Wet Jet every week but just can't get the floor clean. I see that there are a lot of posts about steam mops... would that work for my linoleum? I would love any suggestions.

Re: Nasty Linoleum Floors
Our home was a rental before we bought it, and the kitchen is the one thing the previous owner didn't touch/remodel. (House was otherwise in model condition, and priced at least $40k under local comps because of it).
The linoleum floor is NASTY. It has cuts, it has stains...nothing gets them off. The steam mop doesn't work (but at least makes me feel ok about dog and DD running around), Magic Eraser didn't work except on one stain, baking soda paste...barkeeper's friend...nope. We will be remodeling in the next year.
I agree with whoever said maybe your LL will spring for an adhesive tile possibility.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely try the magic eraser mop. I had no idea that such a thing exsited... I couldn't live without my magic erasers.
I don't think that changing the linoleum is an option because we live in military housing and they're pretty stingy.
