The Orgasmic Diet

Ok, so I've had NO desire for sex whatsoever. If I never had it again I could care less. I've been tested for hormone imbalances and have smeared enough progesterone and testosterone on my body to make a snowman out of the stuff. So, I've started reading The Orgasmic Diet by Marrena Lindberg. I'm barely into it so I have not started the diet yet, but the basics so far are increasing your consumption of fish oil, dark chocolate (I GUESS I can do it) and a 40/30/30 ratio of carbs, fats and proteins. In addition you're supposed to do keigels or buy a vaginal cone. I've never ever heard of a vaginal cone and it sounds scary so I'll stick with the keigels. I have no problem having an orgasms of any kind but the diet's also supposed to help with that 'problem'. It's nothing fancy, difficult and I don't have to fly to some rainforest to find a magical herb. So, I'm in. I'll update once I start this journey. I'm posting from my Blackberry so sorry for the jumbled info. Happy libido hunting!!!

Re: The Orgasmic Diet

  • do you think that how you are feeling has anything to do with your pregnancy losses? i hope that doesn't offend you. i don't mean it to, esp since i've been through one myself. but i just wonder if the losses took a toll on you emotionally/mentally, so that now you equate sex with babies and losses.

too much of a stretch? i dunno. probably. anyways, best of luck to you with the diet!!

  • What is a vaginal cone? Please don't flame me for asking this Indifferent
  • I'm inclined to agree with jrsygrl.  Have you gone to any type of individual counseling?

As for the diet, that's pretty much just the basis of a good, healthy diet.  I'm a big believer in the 40:30:30 ratio, because protein is great for making a person feel sated.  And fish oil is just good for your heart.

  • No doubt that my losses affected me! But I've felt this way even before TTC. When we were TTC I prayed I'd get Pg right away just so I didn't have 2 keep trying. Horrible, I know, but true. Instead of just enjoying sex and letting the pg happen I was timing it just to get pg. I love my husband dearly and sex is pleasurable when I do it but I have to force myself to get started. I had no idea what a vaginal cone was either so I looked it up. It reminds me of the handheld airport lights the runway workers direct the planes with lol. And no paragraphs on the BB...sorry. Oh, and we did go to counseling about the losses and more. I'm just stumped @ this point.
