The U.S. passport agency stole my marriage license!
The title of this post says it all. I sent in my passport to get renewed - I had gotten it renewed less than a year before we had gotten married, and if you change your name within a year of renewal, they won't charge you to change your name on the passport so long as it hasn't been a year since the passport was renewed. Does that make sense?
So I get the passport back in the mail today, and my marriage license isn't in the package! WTF?! When I did it a year ago, they sent back my birth certificate, but this time, they don't send back my marriage license? I don't even know who to call tomorrow to straighten this out!
Any one else have this problem or have any advice on how to handle it?

I got my passport with H's last name.
Then a few days later I got my old passport with a hole in it, and my marriage license.
I wouldn't worry yet.
Mine came in separate envelopes too either on the same day or one day apart. Your ML will probably come back within the week. They send the passport first b.c. you might need that sooner since other copies of the ML are usually available.

Also, my passport name change was free. Perhaps you other ladies weren't talking about a simple name change..?
