Nostrils...
I have a terrible cold right now and I find it so annoying that I can only breathe through one nostril. Then about every 1-2 hours, I can suddenly breathe through both nostrils for about 3 seconds, and then it switches -- the congested nostril is suddenly all clear and the previously clear one is all congested. It's so annoying! Does this happen to anyone else?

Oh yeah - every single time I have a cold. I think it's the single most annoying symptom!

I haven't had that. I hate when I'm congested and cannot taste food. I guess that doesn't happen to everyone either.

My mother and sister both get this, but I've never had any problem with it. Then again, I don't have a very good sense of smell normally anyway - maybe that's why?

That happens to me too! It usually happens when I'm in bed. Whatever side I'm lying on, the nostril will get clogged, but if I flip over it drains into the other.
Hm, that turned out grosser than I intended.

Ha! I do this on purpose sometimes, just to relieve the tedium of only being able to breathe out of one nostril lol.

I took lots of Dayquil, Nyquil, tea, OJ and soup and I feel a lot better now. Thank goodness...because the other annoying thing about being congested is that I feel like I can't breathe when I'm brushing my teeth...I really feel like I'm going to choke. I guess cause I breathe through my mouth but my mouth is full of toothbrush and toothpaste....it's the worst!
