What Would You Do?
I read a blog pretty frequently that a Nestie from the WC board. She's a mildly popular Nestie and has a lot of followers on her blog.
A few days ago I made a recipe of hers and it turned out awful! I figured I had done something wrong since it was kind of a hurried thing and went and made it again a day or two later, this time really focusing on what I was doing and making sure it was right. Again, it was really really bad. I went and posted a comment on the blog entry, nothing really mean or ripping her apart, just saying that I had made the dish a few times and neither time it had turned out right and wanted to know if there was anything I could try differently (Can you tell I really wanted this recipe to work out?). She normally replies to her comments within a day or so and I checked back the next day only to find my comment deleted!
I looked through some of the comments on a bunch of her recipes and all of them are glowing reviews of the dish and/or her blog.
If you were the blogger, would you have taken my less-than-perfection review off?

I would not have deleted it. That's a little juvenile. Maybe it wasn't perfect when you did it.. it happens. But she could have at least commented on your trouble and asked what you did. You know?
ETA: If she deleted your less than great review, how many other times has she done that? NO ONE has recipes that everyone loves.
And blogging? Be honest about it or don't do it.

Back in June 2010...
I see what you're getting at. I'm guessing it's not the first time that it's happened where a less-than-stellar review has popped up and instead of just letting it be the author deleted it.
I'm just surprised that she did it. If I had said something like "This was worse than recalled dog food and I hope you burn in kitchen hell for even suggesting this be edible" then yeah, delete it but it was nothing even close to that.
That's BS! I follow a lot of the WC ladies' blogs, too and it has never occurred to me that they EDIT the comments. I'm sure there would have been a nice, helpful way to respond to your concern.
And....I'm dying to know whose blog it was.
Part of me wants to be really juvenile and email her and ask why she deleted it.
I don't think it's juvenille of you to want to email her. It was your right to write you did and to have it deleted you should want to know why.
