How was your weekend ladies?

I went out to Lahaina on Saturday to watch my niece sing and play the ukulele in the youth ukulele competition.  She did really well but placed last.  She was in the group division and is only 11 while the other competitors were high school age.  The hubs came along so it was a nice excuse for a date, we had a couple margaritas and he let me check out the bartender :)  It was a fun day.  Then I had to work on Sunday at the salon, it was a steady day and I got some cash in my pocket, which is always nice.  I love it when clients appreciate the hard work I do and tip generously.  The hubs will be leaving on Tuesday for a week long business trip.  I will miss him, but am looking forward to having the house to myself.

So how was everyone else's weekend?

Re: How was your weekend ladies?

  • J was out of town so I was on my own all weekend.  I had lunch with a friend on Saturday, watched a girly movie that night (La vie en rose), and spent Sunday morning canning applesauce... and Sunday afternoon caring for the burn I gave myself while canning. :P

In the end I had 10 jars of applesauce and only 1 burn, so I call that a win!

So, what are you gonna do with your me-time?

  • My ILs are in the country for the first time, so Phil and I met them in Ottawa where they were staying with my parents.

I've discovered I find my FIL really, REALLY irritating.

  • We went to Shark's Cove on Saturday, but didn't stay very long.  We tried snorkeling, but the visibility was so low we could hardly see any fish.  DD wouldn't even get near the water.  Shark's Cove has a little tidal pool with no waves, but she wouldn't even go for that.  My sister and I went to see "Easy A" that night.  The only thing I really liked about the movie was the music.

Sunday we just ran errands and hung around the house... nothing too exciting.

  • We went to the local fair where I watched people eat these ginormous servings of fries on Saturday.

On Sunday, we met up with DH's friend and he took us to an Indian restaurant and a park.

Now, we're both sick with a throat/chest cough thing.  Ugh.

applesauce, yum :)  I have a bunch of bananas that I need to bake into bread and freeze, otherwise they will spoil and I hate throwing away food.  Since the hubs is gone he won't be here to help me eat them.  My nails need to be done, and some plants need to be planted.  I'm sure I will end up at my sisters for dinner, every night :) And I'm gonna enjoy watching, glee, greys anatomy and the vampire diaries uninterrupted.   The hubs always complains that I interrupt him when he's watching a game, but he does exactly the same thing to me when I'm watching my shows.  I'm sure he will still find a way to bug me by calling me exactly when the shows get interesting.
