On Saturday, Kevin and I went apple picking which was lovely. Then Kevin started working on some stuff around the house - he pulled out all the plants in the front and moved the woodpile from the back of the house to behind the shed (I don't want the creatures that live in the woodpile to come into my house). While he did that, I went grocery shopping. Then we just hung out. Oh, and I made an apple pie, which I cut too early (you should let them cool so the juices don't come out all over or something, but I couldn't wait!).
Sunday I went up to my parents because my aunt was throwing me a baby shower. While I was gone, Kevin assembled the crib and moved all the gifts from last weekend's shower into the baby room. I got lots of nice things and then my parents drove back with me and brought all the gifts. So today I have to sort. Unfortunately, I left the gift list at my aunt's house, so I have to wait a little on the thank yous.
Re: How was everyone's weekend?
Meg I can't believe you are so close to the end! I know you are super excited. I cannot wait to see what you are having.
Our weekend was nice. We went to a photographer who donated his services to us to have Declinn's 6mth pictures done. She was so cute. I cannot wait to see them! We went out to lunch with the IL's. Then I did some food shopping and made some deviled eggs for my friends son's christening.
Sunday I got up, made some baby food, washed dishes and then we went over to our friends place for the party for her son's christening. After that we went to target to get a bike light for DH since he wants to start riding his bike to work until we start getting money from his GI bill again. He starts at the police academy November 1st. I am so proud of him. Then we came home and chilled the rest of the day.
How nice that you had a shower... I also can't believe how soon you will have a baby!
Good to hear both of your updates. I was at my parents on Friday night and Saturday - lots of pictures in my blog if you want to see exactly what I was up to there.
Sunday we went out with the IL's the celebrate their 35th anniversary. It was a nice meal, and the restaurant was on the river so we fed the geese and ducks afterwards:)
Have a great week everyone!
Our weekend was good.Busy.
Friday- had an OB appt. It went really well. We got the dr to cover the ultrasound and metformin that I get to start with my next period. We are really excited about it. We will be trying after my next period. The gender chart says "Boy" for me this month and, call me crazy, I dont want to take the chance. It was right before.
Saturday- DH had to work 6-11. He was not happy. I had ladies night saturday night. It was a good time. Felt weird/ guilty drinking again though.
Sunday- went halloween shopping and started to decorate the front yard.
Friday after work we headed to MIL's for her birthday. Saturday we went to a fancy restuarant (the Depuy Canal House in High Falls, NY) and had an AMAZING dinner there.
Sunday I helped out at a Wedding show. the DJ from our wedding needed someone to help him out and I agreed. He took DH and I out for dinner afterward as a payment. It was nice.
I'm a day late, oops
Saturday I had a race @ the local zoo, it was fun
Then my friend & I walked around the zoo (that was stupid, i was so tired & sore by the time we got done).. I went home and slept for a few hours.. My step mom & sister were over for the weekend so we cooked out on the grill & just hung out Sat night.
Sunday they went home early. Then me, my dad & chris went out on the boat and went fishing. It was nice, great weather, and perfect sun!
We caught a few grunts that we cooked up for dinner, and we had shrimp & zucchini kabobs, and some cheese grits, yummmmmmmy!
I am more than a few days late on this one!
Im glad to see everyone is doing good!!
We are trying to survive in this world....we haven't been able to catch up financially from when Dh was laid off and then I was off with the baby and not getting paid. We were doing ok while I was off but then coming back to work and having to pay daycare for 2 kids and my company taking half my paycheck to pay back insurance stuff is killing us!!!! So many people tell me that money is the biggest reason couples fight and end up in divorce. I totally see that....we aren't headed toward divorce but it def. takes a toll on our relationship. We are trying to stay positive and be thankful for all the good things we have in our life.
I need a job where I can work from home--I tried the Partylite (candle stuff) but that wasn't all that successful. Hopefully things will get better soon!!
Yuck, I'm sorry to hear that ya'll are having a tough time. I'm sure it even worse w/ kids. Things will start looking up, and you can look back and see how strong you were through this rough time, and your marriage will be that much stronger because you endured this tough time.
I also wish I could work from home, and we don't have kids, but I can imagine how much easier that would be. I know you work for a Dr, but what do you do?
Right now its front desk/insurance verification. So I could do the insurance stuff from home!
Is working from home an option at all? Like maybe 1 or 2 days a week?
Does the daycare charge you for the whole week no matter how many days your kids are there?
...insurance verification is the most annoying thing in the world.. just sayin'
I
my job right now because I don't do much insurance verification - mostly because we are not contracted w/ most major carriers yet.
I did my first pre-auth for surgery yesterday, i was so proud. Ha ha
Not right now. I want to go part-time but they wont let me because there version of part time is working 5 hours everyday not like 3 days a week.
The daycare goes on how many days they are there. It is either 2 days 3 days or a full week.
I dont mind the verification part to much as long as it is all I am doing. It never is though. I run the front office alone most of the time and when I have help then they want me in the clinic following patients so the therapists can get their notes and paperwork done.
I have talked to people on the phone with insurance companies that work from home....i need a job with one of those places!
