DH was on his way to a meeting when was stopped by a lady in a car on our street. She had just seen a truck dump a little dog! DH chased the truck and got the license number. He came home and got me and we searched for the dog but never found him. I have called the animal clinic where I work and also the local animal league to alert them. I hope the dog gets found and the people get smashed by a semi!!! Our street boarders on 2 very busy streets. I am so worried about the little dog. Grrrrr!!! I hate people!!!
Re: STUPID PEOPLE!!!
=(
Way to make a Monday EVEN WORSE!!!
That's horrible. It makes me want to punch someone.
We found a kitten in February (she ran into our garage) and she was totally mellow. She let me walk right up to her and pick her up. So we went to a few neighbors to ask if she was theirs. One lady said "No, but I saw that kitten yesterday. She was sitting on our porch making noise."
Oh how nice of you to take her in you stupid "C-U-next Tuesday"!!! It must be said that there was 7" of snow on the ground... IN TEXAS!!! I want to cut a b!tch sometimes.
PS... 2 months later she had 4 kittens. Sh!t. Her babies are bigger than her and they are only 5 months. She's TINY. We still have her and 3 of the babies. None of the shelters here are taking any animals in and I refuse to take them to a kill shelter.
I'm a rescue pet parent of a smallish dog (17lbs - she's up from 15 when we got her!) and shiit like this pisses me off to no end.
What kind of trashy people dump a small dog - or any dog - from their truck and drive off? Ugh, totally irresponsible. I hope karma comes back around and gives them what they deserve. And I hope that little dog is safe in some kind person's home tonight who took him / her in.
Thats awful =[ One of my dads friends took in a dog that was dumped on the side of the interstate over the summer. We were going to adopt it (this was when we were looking for a dog) but they had already gotten too attached to him. I'm just glad he found a good home.
All of my animals are rescues/strays. I got Sophie from a rescue shelter who was having an adoption thing in front of the store when I worked at Petco. She was an older cat and was the only one left at the end of their event and she had this giant lump on her ear so no one wanted her. I picked her up and carried her around the store with me like a baby and she just purred and purred, so they let me take her home, no adoption fee (I gave them a decent donation later on). The lump on her ear turned out to be skin cancer so they cut off half of her ear, so I'm glad that I took her home and got her the care she needed.
Hefner, I kinda stole from someone. He was this teeny tiny ball of fluff and was running around outside. He ran up and jumped in my lap and started meowing. He was scrawny and covered in fleas. I walked past the apartment that I was told he was living in and they had bowls out on the doorstep, but no food or water in them. I brought him home with me. If you can't take care of your animal, don't get one in the first place. I took him to the vet as soon as I got home and got him treated for a skin condition, the fleas, and worms.
Brody, I got from a rescue shelter. He had been pulled out of a high-kill shelter in the town where I went to college. He was my life saver (he was with me when I was having my, um, issues).
The kittens, we ended up getting from a neighbor who just let their un-spayed cat run around and be a whore. The mother was TINY, so Bella is also TINY and she's a year and half and weighs like 6 pounds. Jax is kinda normal sized, but a little smaller than average.
Now I REALLY want to adopt a dog!
Matt's not completely opposed to the idea. Just mostly.
I can't believe that people just abandon animals. It's sickening. There are so many other options.
