How many hours of work do you actually get done in a typical work day?

This.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Me too!
Unfortunately, me too.
The job I have now would have been ideal for when we were wedding planning.
I try to create work, just to have something to do.
This is me too. But they are moving me so it could change.
I physically teach about 4.5 hours a day (4-5 periods out of 6), then get 1-2x 50 minutes of prep each day (so I can do all the photocopying, organizational stuff I need) and have an hour off for lunch.
Then there's all the extra help I do after school. Mostly, I'm pretty busy all day long.

I work 7 hours and 40 minutes with a 20 minute break for lunch...and bathroom if I'm lucky
I get to school at 7 and get everything I didn't do the day before prepped for the day, check my email and phone messages, and check in with my team teachers. Sometimes I have a morning meeting. Kids start at 7:40, I teach until 9:30, have a 45 minute team meeting or a prep period, teach another hour and forty-five minutes, have a twenty minute lunch break, cover silent reading for 20 minutes, have 45 minutes of prep or study hall proctoring, then teach another hour. Kids leave at 2:30 and I have 30 minutes at the end of the day to prep for the next day before I can go home at 3.
That said, unless I have a meeting at 3, I also leave school every day between 3 and 3:30 and I don't take work home with me...so I use basically every minute I have available so that I can keep home and school separate.

In an 8 hour shift, I get half an hour for lunch and I work my butt off the other 7.5 hours. I would want someone to give the same level of care to any of my hospitalized loved ones.
