1. Do you and YH say pop, soda, sodapop or is everything a Coke?
2. How do you and YH pronounce "aunt?" (want, ant, ain't or something else)
Re: Interesting QOTD
I'll start
1. I'm a pop girl, but DH says soda (weirdo Texan lol) So I'm curious to see what Preston ends up calling it.
2. I say aunt like want and DH calls his ain't. Once again, curious to see what Preston says.
Fun!
1. I say soda and DH alternates between soda and Coke
2. We both say ant.
1. We both say soda.
2. We both say ant.
1) I grew up saying soda and now say pop because it is the norm here. I switch to soda when I am back in New England.
2) Aun-T, DH says Ant.

TTC on hold until December
1. soda. (although DH says soder and it drives me bonkers)
2. ant.
This. I never heard it called 'pop' until I went to Penn State... and then it drove me bonkers as I had no idea what in the world people were talking about.
HA! My grandparents do this too! They were born and raised in the Boston area and a lot of words have "er" or "ah" at the end. Like car and bar....
This drives me crazy too! It's a sofa not a sofer... or it's an idea not an idear! Seriously, I'm not going to come buy a sofa from you when all I can think of is your advertisement calling it a 'sofer'. *end vent*
And I thought most people in eastern PA said soda! I know all my friends from Philly and Harrisburg teased me because they said soda and I said pop.
Now that I think about it, my parents, brother, nephew and I are about the only ones who say pop in the family. Everyone else says soda (weirdo Virginians lol)
We do say soda. But a lot of my friends at Penn State were from Pittsburgh so at first I had no idea what they were referring to when they said 'pop'.
I totally laughed out loud at this. I just spent my weekend with my 89-year-old grandparents and we kept getting into the "cah" to go to the "pahhk" and sitting on the "sofer" in the living room.
eh. I'm not one to talk. I say "about" like I'm a Canadian. I've never lived outside of the LA/OC area. I'm asked on occasion where I'm from at my local grocery store. Oops.
1. We both say soda....pop is a character on the rice krispies box
2. We both say "ant", but when I lived in SD, people said it like "want" all the time and would look at me weird for not saying it the same way.

1. We say "Coke" As in "Hey do you want a coke?" "Yes" "What kind would you like?" "I'll have a Dr. Pepper." If its carbonated and a beverage, its coke. Sometimes DH says "Soda"...its the Oklahoma coming out of him. But its rare.
2. We both say "ant." I say "Auntie" like "want" sometimes if I'm being silly and talking about my crazy Aunt Bobby.
1. Pop. Everything is NOT coke. I don't really like Coke, though. Then again, we typically call it what it is... "Do you want a Root Beer?"
2. We pronounce "aunt" like "ant."
1. I say soda, but when I still lived in MN I said pop. It drives my parents nuts when I'm back home.
2. I say aunt as in "want". DH says "ant."
