I have been belittled by my boss recently that I feel like a pion!

Not to be a biitch, Charity, but you complain about your job and your boss ALL the time. Do something about it. Have you applied for new jobs? Have you told your boss to quit treating you like dirt? I realize he's your boss, but stick up for yourself. People will treat you how you allow yourself to be treated. I don't know what else to say to your work vents.

This. You know I love ya, but girl, DO something! It was a huge decision for me to go back to school, because I knew I'd be unable to work as much. But the great part is that in the long run, it's so much better for me. Start putting out feelers and find somewhere that will appreciate you more.

I have started to look elsewhere but it seems that I am over qualified. I cannot stand up to him because he WILL fire me. But then again I am pretty much a pushover and let people walk all over me. But if I stand up for myself here I know that I wont have a job. Sorry I will stop talking about work here.

There is no such thing as over qualified in the job world. If you want something else, you apply to every job that you think you could do. I was a teacher for two years. I have a college degree. I have applied for countless $10/hour jobs that will barely pay my student loans. It's what you do if you want something different.

I didn't mean for you to stop talking about work on the board, but I really don't know what else we can say about your boss & work situation. We've told you he's a d!ck. You've said he's a d!ck. Get a resume and cover letter in order and start mailing out applications. Make a goal to send 2 a week, 5 a week, 10 a week, whatever you want your goal to be. You will be amazed at how much easier it is to walk into work when you know you are making the move to get out of there.

LVila, I agree with everything you've written in this thread except this. I can't get a job that pays $10/hr because they ask for my resume, and know I'll jump ship the second something in my career arc comes along.

Charity, good luck. I hope you get motivated to get the heck out of there.

I agree, but you NEVER know what an employer is looking for in a candidate. You never know who knows whom in the business world. A reference could be your ticket or something in your resume sparks interest. The biggest thing is sending them out. It's not that expensive to mail them out and you don't get any of the jobs to which you don't apply )
