Libraries attract the crazies. When I was in grad school, I worked at the big-ass library at the big-ass state school. We regularly had weirdos in there, both students and the general public from town. One guy was a conspiracy theorist and would approach both students and faculty and trap them in hours-long discussions about how the government had a cure for cancer but didn't want us to know for population control. And we had a lady who would yell at the young girls to cover up and not be whores. It was good times.
I'm in the middle of nowhere now and the crazy factor is much lower.
