I'm beating myself up today
For letting O roll off the bed yesterday. He's totally fine, but it's such an awful feeling. I kept hearing the thud of his head hitting the floor over and over last night. He's got a grid pattern on his forehead from our jute type rug. Looks like someone smacked him with a flyswatter.
Mike was in a meeting so I couldn't get in touch with him. Thankfully my SIL called her folks and they came charging over to give me a second opinion and keep him alert until we were okay to let him go to sleep per the pedi.

Ready to rumble.
Re: I'm beating myself up today
Ryker rolled off his paymat onto our hardwood floor and I heard it over and over too. I am sorry, I know it is hard as a parent to cope with.
But, boys are sturdy.
Miles has rolled off the bed before.
I'm beating myself up today because I turned away from the kid for half a second and apparently that was enough time for him to pull over a floor lamp. If its fall hadn't been broken by our bed, it probably would have fallen on him and could have caused serious damage.
That would throw me for a loop, too. i often wish it wasn't so taboo to put your kids in bubble wrap.

Cali I love you.
Also, until you put your baby in the ICU for a week, you've already got Mr. Mod beat, so don't beat yourselves up.

But fairy godmothers can't hurt babies.
I was washing my hands in the bathroom this morning and Gwen was trying to climb my leg, when she tripped and smacked head first into the cabinet. She's fine, but I felt horrible... its definitely that thunk sound that keeps ringing in your ear.
And Mod, story time?!

Meegs, it's old and long to write out and no longer showing up in a google search for me to C&P. Long and short of it. Mr. Mod and one of his friends took the friend's 6 week old baby out while my friend (the mom) and I went shopping. Her first time away from the baby. On the way back into the house, they picked up the baby stroller incorrectly and dropped the baby down a couple of concrete steps. She had a fractured skull and spent more than a week in ICU. (Where they did very little but monitor her and give her one blood transfusion which they said was not necessary but was more defensive). She's 2 now and she's awesome and fine.

I dropped my son head first on cement when he was around 2. He didn't want to leave daycare, I had his bag and lunch box in my hand, I tried to pick him up but he was flailing around and he started to slip and I dropped him. I dropped to the ground crying hysterically, luckily one of the teachers ran over and helped us. He had one heck of bump on his forehead, the dr. said bumps are good dents are bad.
I never dropped the bag or lunch box though.
