Joe the Plumber isn't licensed

I wasn't going to mention JtP again, but this just keeps getting funnier! HAHAHA!

Excerpt:

According to Lucas County Building Inspection records, A. W. Newell Corp. does maintain a state plumbing license, and one with the City of Toledo, but would not be allowed to work in Lucas County outside of Toledo without a county license.

Mr. Wurzelbacher said he works under Al Newell?s license, but according to Ohio building regulations, he must maintain his own license to do plumbing work.

He is also not registered to operate as a plumber in Ohio, which means he?s not a plumber.

Mr. Wurzelbacher said he was hired by Mr. Newell six years ago and that the possibility of him eventually buying the company was discussed during his job interview.

He said it?s his understanding he can work under Mr. Newell?s license as long as the licensed contractor works on the same site.

Mr. Wurzelbacher said he is working on taking the Ohio plumbing contractors? license test.

Re: Joe the Plumber isn't licensed

  • I feel so sorry for this guy. He's about to get more scrutiny than Joe Biden.
  • You're right, this stuff is lol-worthy.

"Plumber" says about progressive taxation "That?s a pretty socialist comment. Two-fifty ($250,000) is his number now. When is it going to be one fifty ($150,000), when it?s going to be one hundred ($100,000)?"

Yet: Court records from a divorce show Mr. Wurzelbacher made $40,000 in 2006.[//i]

oh no, the slippery slope... when is it going to be 40K????

"Plumber": Idea"If you believe him, I would be receiving his tax cut," adding that he would not want the tax cut.?

Yeah, who needs a tax cut when you can make your own?

In December, 2007, the Ohio Department of Taxation placed a lien against him because $1,183 in personal property taxes had not been paid, but there has been no action in the case since it was filed.?

Ditto.  I bet he had no idea.  I knew he was in over his head when Kevin Tibbles was at his front door on the Today Show.

  • Becoming a talking point sucks...
  • This is freaking ridiculous.  Seriously.  He's getting vetted more than Palin.  bwhahaha.

Honestly, it doesn't matter that Joe is licensed or not licensed or anything. What matters is that lots of people are probably faced with this scenario presented right now as business owners/buyers.

I'm sure ole Joe is going to wish he'd have kept his mouth shut though.  Talk about your 15 minutes.

  • I haven't watched the debate yet and so haven't been following the threads, but I also heard he's not even registered to vote. This morning on the Today Show he wouldn't say who he supported. Hmm.

He is registered to vote, but his name is misspelled. At least that's what I read on either msnbc.com or Toledo Blade. I already forgot. Too much information is getting crammed into my little lady brain.

  • Right, he is registered apparently.

The interesting thing is that mispelling (they used an "o" instead of a "u") would be that under the current republican plan to prevent voter fraud, he would be prevented from voting if he were a new voter.....

  • It does matter that he's not licensed b/c he's been operating illegally, and he couldn't have his own business without being licensed.  Not only that, but he's never been apprenticed nor taking any sort of training.  Not exactly the guy you want being the centerpiece of an argument.  Apparently he also owes a ton in back taxes that he's never paid.  So, he's not anti-Obama's plan.  He talked about owning his own business apparently in a job interview 6 years ago, in a sort of, sure, someday, maybe sort a way.  He just hates any and all taxes.

If he's the same guy that they found with a differently spelled name, he registered over ten years but voted for the first time in this year's primary.  Stellar political involvement.
