any landscaping guru's out there willing to help me?

Ugh I need advice.  Alright, so as you all know we are moving.  We plan (hope) to put our house on the market soon.  However, our landscaping looks horrible right now.

A month ago (before I had any clue we would be moving) I ripped out and moved a lot of things around.  I had  big plans for the bed in front of our house.  Right now, however, it looks like crap (it has hostas, daylillies, hydrangea).  Soon there will be nothing in it to give it any visual interest ( the original plan was to plan some year round/fall plants in the spring).

Any ideas what I can do to help with curb appeal?  I put some mums in a  pot on our steps, and I am thinking about  putting a railing pot on the front porch with mums in it for the next 2 months, then switching to something evergreen)

Once the day lillies and hostas die, we will almost nothing in front of our house.  I'd hate to spend a lot of money (esp. if I can take it with me) but it really looks bad.

  • You're in a tough spot.  I have a lot of things to offer you for transplanting, but they won't look good for a while (they'll be wilty).  If you're interested in some mums, black eyed susans or a few other things, let me know (probably via FB).

You could plant the mums in their pots for the winter.

Keep in mind that once the snow flies, most landscaping will look pretty much the same.
