After the fiasco with the dumped dog yesterday (we never found him) I was feeling down today. As I was driving home I saw a pitbull slinking along the busy road. She looked terrified. I swung into the nearest driveway and called to her. She came bolting at my car so fast I thought she was going to dent the door. She was wiggling all over. I got out and put a leash on her. She had a collar with a broken chain but no tags. I was just loading her into my car to take her to the clinic when a neighbor came running over. She showed me the house the dog came from. We went into the back yard and there was her broken chain. I used my leash to reattach her to the chain. I was so happy to be able to help her. I just wish more people would put ID tags on their dogs. Thank goodness I was driving by just then, she was getting ready to bolt into the road when I caught her.
Re: Helped a Pit today...
That is awesome! Pits are such misunderstood dogs. If they are raised right they can be the sweetest babies in the world! Well done!!!!
Not that my cats go outside but one of their colors broke today UGH!!!
Yay!
Although it bothers me, too, that she was chained out there unattended, it sounds like. Thank goodness the neighbor showed up to show you were she belonged.
