I saw your ticker that you are going on an anniversary cruise! Fun! Where are you going?
Re: ~melko4886~
omg I cant wait! were going on a 4 night RC to the bahamas...miami, key west, coco cay and nassau.
It's in december, so its as close to anniversary as we can get haha. I will need a vacation sooo badly by that point haha.
you cruise alot, right?
ohhh Europe...we really want to do a cruise through Europe!
I also really want to take DH to Disney...I went when i was in 7th grade, and I would love to go back just us before we have kids. Personally, Id go with the free meals, and extend your anniversary celebrations!
::butting in:: agreed! ::butting out::
Ditto this, especially since I know you like to eat at the nice places.

Ugh I know! I totally agree with the free dining, but Josh just can't take off any extra days this upcoming year... we are already doing the 2 weeks for Europe over the summer and god forbid he's sick or something he doesn't want to use ALL the time.
Our anniversary weekend trip only works out because it's MLK weekend and he'll already have Monday off. I'm so bummed because free dining would be AMAZING! We just priced it out and for 3 nights with airfare, food, moderate hotel {we just can't do a deluxe this time with Europe and everything else}, and 2 tickets it comes to $1200.... that's still kind of pricey for 3 nights, no??? I thought so.... I'm on disboards.com and looking in maybe renting DVC points from a member and staying in a studio villa... it may be a little cheaper to do it that way... BAH who knows!
H and I had to do the same thing with his vacay. Since we still have yet to take our honeymoon (and I harped constantly about it) we decided to go for our 1 year anniversary ONLY because he already had a 3 day weekend, which allowed him to keep an extra vacation day. He only gets 1 week/year paid (he works on strict commission) so otherwise it just comes out of our pocket...
But yeah, $1200 for 3 days seems like A LOT. I read somewhere about renting (maybe an old SouthernLiving magazine) townhomes outside of Disney for cheap just because they were in a great location but not right in Disney World. I forget the details though...
That is a lot for three days, I guess I thought you had annual passes or something and wouldn't need to buy tickets. Have you tried looking for nearby hotels like in Downtown Disney at hotels.com or some such thing.
Last January we stayed at Regal Sun Resort for somewhere around 60 bucks a night, I don't remember the price exactly. To save money, maybe skip the meal plan and eat at a lot of quick serves?

Ugh I WISH we had annual passes!!!! We had looked into off property but then we would have to rent a car, etc. I'm thinking of 1 nice meal for our anniversary and then the rest just doing a quick service type deal as you mentioned... I'm waiting to hear back from some DVC members who are looking to get rid of some points so we'll see, fingers crossed!
