My dog has surgery today

Monty is having the growth removed from his nose that I mentioned last week, apparently the vet is already finished. His teeth being cleaned too, and two teeth removed :(  We'll have to ramp up the at-home brushing to keep up now that they'll be sparkly clean.

I hope he won't be too traumatized when I pick him up. He'll wake up from the anesthesia and be like, what the h*ll happened?? Poor pup will have a cone on his head for a week too.

Sorry to go on about my dog - don't have kids yet, so he's what I worry about!

Re: My dog has surgery today

  • Poor puppy :( I hope everything went well. I always feel so bad when they have to wear the cone... Zoey really hated it because she sleeps in her crate and it was hard for her to get in and out with the cone on her head.

  • Poor pup!  At least it is all taken care of!

  • Aw, poor little guy!  I'm sure he'll bounce back quickly. :)

  • My black lab just had a tumor removed from her leg and her teeth cleaned as well, back in August.  She was totally fine when she got home!!!  She did, however, manage to learn how to "peel back" her cone like a banana peel, chew her bandage off, chew her sutures out, and wreak havoc in general, so her leg took a lot longer to heal than it should have...but since your dog's is on his nose I am sure he won't be able to mess with it!!
  • Lol!! I'm sure he'll be fine. He's a little ball of fire, so he'll probably be wondering when we'll go for a walk later.
