XP: Anyone a member at the Hays YMCA?
What do you like/dislike about it? Want a work out buddy in the late afternoons? I'm thinking about joining. Now that we have DSS I think it'd be worth it with the free kids stuff and discounts on sports leagues and summer camps, etc. I pick him up at 2:45 from school so would probably be going around 4pm. Is it crazy busy at that time?

I belong to the Austin YMCA but I haven't ever been to the Hays location (I go to the one at Town Lake). I think it's great--they have lots of good classes (which I never take, though) and I like vibe of the people who go there. They aren't like serious "gym bunny" people, it's mostly families and older folks. I think it would be especially worth it if I had kids, it looks like they're all having a good time.
In my experience it's not busy at 4:00, though I don't know the Buda location. It seems busiest right after work, at like 5:30.
