... that Honey Crisp apples are freaking awesome?  They're totally worth the extra $0.70 a pound.  I'm so glad they're in season again.

What do you guys like in an apple?

I like crunch, and sweetness, but not too much.

    I concur - Honey Crisp are the best.  I also like Granny Smith and Pink Lady.  I must have a crunchy apple.

    Some crunch but not too much, lots of sweetness (more so than tartness), and a nice fresh but not too perfumey aroma. Mmmm. My fave is Royal Gala, but I'll have to give these Honey Crisp apples a shot.

    McIntosh apples are my favorite. Sweet with a bit of tartness. If I can't find McIntosh apples, I'll settle for an Empire. Red delicious only if my two other options are shot.

    My apple intake is totally kicking my stomach's arss right now. I generally just need an apple to be on sale. I love apples, and pretty much any kind will do. I am super picky about bruising and weird marks on them, though, so it takes me a while to pick them out. We just went apple picking and I ate a ton.

    I love honeycrisp! I bought some from a farmer's market in Ottawa this past weekend, and they were delicious.

    Gala is my other go-to apple.

    This exactly.  I have found when Pink Ladies go into their "not great" season the Honeycrisps tend to be in season.  I have been loving the local honeycrisps we've been getting for the past couple weeks.

    I have never tried a Honey Crisp, but love Pink Ladies and Galas. I'll definitely have to try a Honey Crisp soon.

    I love honeycrisp apples! I use them for everything. They cook really well and you don't need to add the extra sugar to make a pie sweet because these just do the trick perfectly.

    I use them for everything. Pies, Cobblers, Crisps anything that requires apples really. They don't bake down all soggy like some do they keep their delicious and crisp taste.
