she doesn't age that much in the book . . . but that's her "cap off" age according to the other half-vamp who comes to testify. So maybe they are going further in the movie in timeline than the book.
and maybe it's so Jacob has someone to hold hands with and make googlie eyes at. I can't imagine they'd have him make out w. a 9 yo, even if it was computer enhanced. yuck.
That entire part of the book skeeved me out. Imprinting. Right. Yuck.
