Wednesday Confessions

My confession: Every month I convince myself I could be pregnant, then I actually think that I am, so I test, it's negative, then I get my AF a few days later. It has happened the last four months. I'm angry and sad and I needed to vent. That's all.

What are your confessions?

Re: Wednesday Confessions

  • Have you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility? I'm in the middle of it now and it's great!

  • Oh I am so sorry. I did the same exact thing until I got pregnant.  It stressed me out to no end.  It will happen, but I know it sucks waiting for it to happen.

My confession, I have been a major slacker since I have come back to work.  I don't want to be here, and have no motivation to be here!  I am so in trouble at my 1x1 in a couple of weeks.  My productivity is at an all time low.

  • Confession: I am terrified of how we're going to afford the 3 babies, and everything else at once. I'm thankful that IVF worked for us (hell it worked REALLY well) but I'm really scared.

I have a copy of it that I am not using.  I just have to run to another office to grab it from someone.  I would be happy to mail it to you!  It will be yours!  If you want it.....either PM your address or message me through FB.

If I was finished, I'd totally send you mine, but I'm only halfway through. I love it so far! The author makes it so interesting and funny. I have learned more about my body in the past couple weeks, reading this book, than I have my whole life probably.

    Good Luck!

MO you can do it. If Ryan and I can take care of 2 babies on one income, you can take care of 3 babies on 2.  Wink  I know it is scary to think about, but you find ways to make it work....trust me!

  • I also highly recommend that book. Even DH started taking glances at it and such. Now he's not so confused when I temp and take my vitamins in the morning. Plus, it will help you learn to know when testing is necessary. I just started temping, and it's not too bad. I still have some BC left to take, but I figure if I get in the habit now, it won't be so hard to keep it up in a month when we're really trying.

I keep getting nervous I'm not taking the right ones, since they don't appear to effect me. It's just the target generics that have a white and pink label. There's no DCH? (not sure what those letters are) in it, though, so maybe that's it. Just 800mcg of folic acid.

Can I ask, snoopy, why you take them? I asked my doctor about it last time I went and she said that as long as I eat somewhat right I don't need to take them while TTC. She said it would actually be too much and I should not be taking them.

  • This is going to sound petty but I think it's the hormones because I can't believe I'm letting this bother me.

Yesterday, one of Manuel's friends, who is a mutual FB friend, posted a video of a song and wrote, "Another classic. This is for you Manuel and the teenage love from back in the day". Manuel's best friend replied, "Oh snap".

I know he has a past. I mean we both do. But is it necessary to post that on FB with that comment where he knows I can see it too? I asked Manuel about it and he told me his HS girlfriend loved that song. It just really annoyed me and I'm still annoyed. I didn't let Manuel see that it bothered me though because I know he'd think I'm being ridiculous.

    Told you it was petty.

    I don't think it's petty. It's totally annoying.

It's good to start taking prenatals once you start TTC because they provide a lot of vitamins that you don't always get from food. Even if you have a really healthy diet, you probably don't get enough of the vitamins your body needs to support a growing baby. Taking them before you're pregnant just helps your body to have some of those vitamins for once you do become pregnant. My doctor told me to start taking them even before we started TTC but I waited until we were actually trying.

  • I made a parent cry today.

I have made plenty of kids cry in the past (6th graders cry at everything...especially the boys) but I don't usually make parents cry...but I honestly think the point I was making was important.

Also, I have a really bad attitude about this year.  I feel like the changes they are making in our district are hurting the kids and making our already tough jobs impossible and the morale in the whole district sucks...and a lot of the bad changes aren't even money motivated, so it really pisses me off that they aren't listening to us.

I'd love to think that I eat right and maintain a healthy lifestyle, but the truth is that I don't really pay much attention. I also don't take a daily multivitamin, so the prenatals help supplement what my body doesn't get in a day. I have really low iron, thanks to my crazy periods, and I can't eat a lot of fiber, thanks to my IBS constantly attacking me.

I've heard that the prenatals are actually good for your body, unless you already take a few vitamins and eat high vitamin diets. There are a few things you can overdose on, but the things in prenatals aren't bad for you for the most part.

I heard you should start taking prenatals about 3 months before you TTC. We have a little over a month and 1/2, so I thought it was a good idea. Granted, there will be at least a month where I let my body relax after birth control. We'll see.
